The NARS Call Center in Cape Girardeau received the Governor's Community Project of the Year Wednesday morning.
Governor Matt Blunt gave out the award at a breakfast ceremony in Springfield.
The St. Louis based National Asset Recovery Services, Inc. employs over 400 people in the former Sears building in the Town Plaza shopping center.  The call center provides customer acquisition, activation, service, retention, and recovery services.
Cape Girardeau Area MAGNET Executive Director Mitch Robinson credits reports by KFVS12 and the Southeast Missourian Job Fair as creating a large interest for job seekers.
The Governor's Community Project of the Year is given once a year to a community that shows a unique or innovative method of overcoming obstacles to create a successful result.
