YourTurn - 8/20/07

Watch for YourTurn normally scheduled to air at the end of Heartland News at Noon on Mondays and Fridays, at the end of Heartland News at 10:00 on Saturday nights, and following The Breakfast Show on Sunday mornings.

Tommy McGuire from Murray, Kentucky:
"Our government has borrowed large amounts of money to keep the market above water.  How long are the American people going to let the wealthy keep using their tax money to keep up their plush lifestyles...congress has no trouble giving itself a $4,000 raise.  The American people are the ones that pay their wages, why didn't we have a vote on that issue?  Just cut the social security payments to lower income folks, that'll cover the expenses."
Vicki Gale from Caruthersville, Missouri:
"I like Jim Burns on the (Breakfast Show).  He's not too loud and in my book both he and Brian Alworth are almost perfect.  Thanks for a great show."
Denise Jones from Malden, Missouri:
"I wonder why Missouri terminated assistance for dental exams and work on teeth.  Was it a good cause for the children in Missouri?  Research shows that bad teeth can cause heart attacks and some stomach cancers...I think Governor Matt Blunt should step up or step down."
Tim Baker from Southern Illinois:
"I respect (Mike Smythe's) attempt to call attention to the increase in motorcycle fatalities...(however his) attempt to line the increase to the failure to wear helmets while riding in Missouri is seriously flawed...maybe (Smythe) should look at the increase in riders or the use of alcohol or the possibility that Missouri does not require much to get a license..."
