CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. - The Heartland has its first confirmed heat death.

According to Cape county Coroner John Clifton, an 81-year-old woman was at Trail of Tears State Park when she was overcome by the heat and became unresponsive.

She had been on a family outing at Lake Boutin when it happened.

The name of the woman is being withheld at the request of her family.
