CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. -- The Heat Wave of 2007 continues for the Heartland. Not only is it a heat wave, but it is a record breaking heat wave.
Through Sunday, August 12, we have tied or broken three record high temperatures*.
Sunday also marks the 11th consecutive day of 95° or higher day time high temperatures. This marks the longest streak of consecutive days at or above 95° since 2005 (5 days).
It looks as though more records will be broken this coming week. Temperatures are expected to top out in the upper 90°'s to lower 100°'s.
