BOLLINGER, COUNTY, Mo. - A homicide investigation continues in Bollinger County.
Investigators say 49-year-old Michael Strong died of a single gunshot wound to the head late Friday night inside his own home.
So far police have not made any arrests.
Police have questioned and released some persons of interest, but at this point, investigators say anyone close to Michael Strong is being questioned, including his girlfriend who police say was in the house at the time of the shooting.
Investigators and search crews spent most of the afternoon looking for a large calibre revolver they say Michael Strong was shot with.  They also believe that gun came from inside his home, although they don't know if that gun belonged to Strong himself.
The search for the weapon began inside the Strong home and then in the woods outside.
"There were several firearms inside the house.  None were missing except this particular one that we're looking for.  That's why it's so important that we find it, to see if it's here or if it's left the property," said Chief Deputy Leo McElrath with the Bollinger County Sheriff's Department.
He also said Strong's girlfriend heard someone arguing with Michael, and then heard a shot fired.  She then reportedly hid under a bed, until police arrived.
Investigators with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms also brought out dogs to search the property earlier Sunday.
Neighbors in the area say they would be surprised to hear anyone say anything bad about Michael Strong.
