Memorial Honors Fallen Soldier

JACKSON, Mo. - Nearly a year after his death, there's now an appropriate memorial marking the grave of Corporal Jeremy Shank.
The 18-year-old died in Iraq last September.   On Thursday, workers placed a grave marker, and family and friends came to see the tribute.
"I've been waiting for this day for months now,"  said Jim Shank. "I knew it was going to bring everything back, and it did to see the inscription and everything."
Along with animals and an outdoor scene to represent Jeremy's love of nature and hunting, there's also a Bible verse, John 15:13.   "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."
"Jeremy's brother read it at his eulogy, " said Jim.
The Liley Monument Company of Marble Hill worked closely with the Shank family on the design and workers spent more than 30 hours building it.
