VERGENNES, Ill. - A fire destroyed an almost century-old post office in Vergennes, Illinois Wednesday morning.
The fire began in the back of a feed store next door to the post office shortly after 7:00 a.m.
Four different fire departments battled the fire.  After an hour, the town's water supply went dry.
Some of the mail was removed from the post office and there are no reported injuries.

Investigators are calling the cause of the fire suspicious.

There is a boil water order for the city until further notice.
