STEELE, Mo. - The woman in charge of the money in one local town now stands accused of taking some of it for herself.
The Pemiscot County prosecuting attorney charged 26-year-old Aleyna Riley with class B felony stealing.
The probable cause statement cites Riley as writing checks to herself totaling nearly $90,000 more than her salary over the course of three years. That statement also says Riley admitted to the mayor of Steele that she had overpaid herself.
