Local man faces assault charges for allegedly shooting brother

IRONTON, Mo. - An Ironton man faces assault charges in connection with a shooting that wounded his brother Wednesday evening.

The Ironton County Prosectugin Attorney's Office said Joshua Abernathie, 19, faces assault in the first degree and armed criminal action charges.  He is in jail on $105,000 cash only bond.

    The Army Corps of Engineers River Commission made a stop by Cape Girardeau on Sunday as part of their low water inspection trip.
