JACKSON, Mo. - Jackson High School's athletic director has resigned. Kevin Bohnert offered his resignation at Tuesday night's Jackson School Board Meeting.
His resignation comes after Bohnert was charged with drug and alcohol charges. Court documents reveal Bohnert tried to get out of trouble.
The trooper who arrested Bonhert discovered marijuana and a smoking pipe in Bohnert's car. According to the report, Bohnert asked the trooper if he could "just forget about the marijuana and the pipe."
"He was coming from a Ted Nugent rock concert, and had marijuana in the console, and a breath alcohol level of 0.11," said Morley Swingle, the Cape County prosecutor. The legal limit in Missouri is .08.
The same court documents also state Bohnert admitted to smoking pot that night.
Bohnert was placed on paid administrative leave after the incident.
The school's attorney said there is no zero tolerance policy for teachers and staff. There is, however, a drugfree workplace policy that has strict regulations in place pertaining to behavior on school property and also during school activities.
