MAKANDA, Ill. - Some stolen goods from a charity auction in southern Illinois have found their way back to their rightful owners.
Earlier in May, two men were caught on tape stealing a backpack and motorcycle helmet from a silent auction to benefit a little girl with Tay-Sachs disease.
Someone found those items inside a box at the post office in Energy, Ill., and turned them over to the lllinois state police.
The items are in a crime lab where officers are checking for fingerprints and DNA.
Officers are still looking for the thieves, but no suspects have been named.
