Star basketball player in court for alleged role in shooting

PADUCAH, Ky. - Continuing coverage on a shooting at Flips Gymnastics in McCracken County; one of those accused is 18-year-old Mario Johnson, a star basketball player at Reidland High School.  Johnson appeared in court today, he is facing 15 felony counts of wanton endangerment.

During the Tuesday's preliminary hearing the judge decided to lower Johnson's bond from $15,500 to 25 percent with stipulations. There are two other juveniles in this case; one of which is the younger brother of Johnson.

The police say all three boys admit to shooting the rifle at least once in the direction of Flips Gymnastics.

From here the case moves onto the grand jury and if they hand down an indictment Johnson will be back in court in July 20the at 1:30 p.m.
