CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - Police and fire crews in Cape Girardeau spent Friday morning working a violent SUV crash on North Kingshighway.
According to police, the driver of the SUV appeared to be heading south when he crossed the four lane road and jumped the curb at the Jaspers gas station. He hit one of the pumps there and spun through the parking lot. But he didn't stop, he then slammed into the large Jaspers sign before going what appeared to be headfirst into the Mid America Cash Loan building. Amazingly that also didn't stop him, after hitting the building his SUV continued to spin into the parking lot and came to a rest up-right.
According to police the man driving the SUV walked away from it, was checked out in an ambulance and then taken into custody and taken away. There is no word on why he was arrested at this time.
