Local man saves bees after April's freeze

McCLURE, Ill. - You might not hear this familiar sound as often. Honey bees across the nation have been leaving their hives. It's a problem called colony collapse disorder, and it means bad news for certain crops.

Bees play the part of mother nature's cupids, flying from flower to flower and plant to plant, the tiny creatures have a big hand in farming, gardening and supplying us with honey.
