CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - With the deadline drawing near, it's time to Shape Up Cape!

The exercise program is designed to encourage people to increase their physical activity.  It's also a contest where businesses can create teams to compete against each other for top prize. "It's the Chamber's way of getting people to exercise to get healthier,"  explains Tim Arbeiter, Vice President of Community Development with the Cape Girardeau Area Chamber of Commerce.

Walking, biking, swimming, even golfing all count as ways to get points for working out.  There's a limit of 25 points per day per person, and a maximum of 125 points a week.

The sign-up period ends May 3rd. The contest runs May 19 through August 18.  For more information, check out the Chamber's web site
