MAYFIELD, Ky. - Police make three arrests in two days in connection with the death of Jessica Currin. Currin's body was found behind Mayfield Middle school in 2000. Those arrested are Quincy Omar Cross of Tiptonville, Tennessee, Jeffrey Burton of West Paducah, and Tamara Caldwell of Mayfield.
Currin was a daughter, a sister, and a mother murdered seven years ago. Her body was found near Mayfield Middle School in August of 2000. It's something those who live nearby will never forget.  "It was disturbing," said Carolyn Keeling. "I know the children were out playing that day. After this happened, I kept them closer."
Over the years Currin's family fought to keep her memory alive. Web sites were established with updates on the case. Now, three arrests mean there's a chance for closure. "It's about time," Keeling said. Meanwhile, Joe Currin, Jessica's father, tells Heartland news he feels a sense of relief. However, nothing will ever take away the pain of losing his daughter.
Currin and the community remain optimistic about the arrests. "I know it's something the family has been waiting for," said Keeling. "I just hope this case is taken care of so Jessica can rest in peace."
Kentucky State Police continue the investigation. Authorities say there could be additional charges and other arrests.
