American Airlines plans return to Southern Illinois

MARION, Ill. - American Airlines is working with Great Lakes Aviation to reestablish AmericanConnection service between six Midwestern airports and Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, including Williamson County Regional Airport in Marion, IL.
RegionsAir formally operated AmericanConnection until it canceled flights earlier this month because of issues with the Federal Aviation Administration.  American Airlines will not reestablish flights to the Cape Grade Regional Airport, because Great Lakes Aviation was not selected as an "Essential Air Service Carrier" by the airport. Jackson, Tennessee and Owens, Kentucky are also on that list.
