Bell City students of all grade levels pack the school gymnasium to cheer on the Cubs Basketball Team as they head to state. "The community support has been great too,"  says Senior Eddie Green, "I've been every year now, we won my freshman year, so as a senior, I'd like to win it all again too."

Green's the only player on the squad to have been on all four state bound teams.  Perhaps the current best known player, Will Bogan stands six feet nine inches tall, offered the shortest but sweetest statement Wednesday afternoon, "We're looking forward to winning a state championship, we're focused and ready to go."
Coach Brian Brandtner explains his team ignores all the outside controversy with an MSHSAA investigation and complains from another school district.  "There's all kinds of garbage, a lot of false statements out there, but we don't talk about it."
Brandtner says the students do a great job of keeping their eye on the ball and the task at hand.
The Cubs play Laplata on Friday at 4:30 in Columbia. Charleston plays Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
Heartland Sports will provide full coverage.
