CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. - While most people probably can't make it to the Big Apple, a trip to St. Louis is more doable. But once you get to the stadium, will you be able to get in?
There are always tickets available if you're willing to pay the price. But, you have to be pretty lucky to score tickets at face value. However, if you have money to burn you just need to know your way around the Internet and they are pretty easy to find.
Cardinal fans know the team's web site (linked above) usually proves to be the most reliable way to get tickets. But maybe not in the postseason. Go to 'tickets', click on 'postseason', and then you request tickets. We got this message: 'The ticketing system is currently unavailable, please try again later'. Out best guess is that's code for 'sold out'.
But smart fans know if you keep an eye on the site, tickets can pop up from time to time. That's how Derek Dickerson got tickets to Game 4 of the NLDS for himself, and his wife, Heather. They brought along their new baby Danielle who was lucky enough to see a big win at her first game. "I guess it was fate," said Derek. "We'll be saving those tickets for her," Heather said.
If you go to 'Google' and search for tickets, plenty of options turn up. However, many sites charge between $75 and $1500 per ticket.
eBay is another popular way for fans to find tickets. Again, lots of seats are available. Some bids start in the $20 range. However, eager fans quickly drive bidding up.
If money's not a problem eBay's 'Buy it Now' option offers tickets at a variety of prices.
Should the Cardinals make it to the World Series, tickets go on sale, October 19th. Fans will need to register at
