The Pomp and Circumstance of Graduation could be heard and seen across the Heartland Saturday afternoon.

More than 3,000 students took part in graduation ceremonies today at Southern Illinois University.  The current and future alumni association presidents spoke at the commencements.

While at Murray State, Kentucky Lieutenant Governor, Stephen Spence, gave the commencement address.   The school also recognized Heartland Native Brianna Moore of Steeleville as one of it’s outstanding seniors.  

And, in Cape Girardeau more than 700 students took part in Graduation ceremonies today.  Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney and Author, Morley Swingle, gave the commencement address.

Seven Students graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. Six of those students are from the Heartland.
