Celebrating 197 years of statehood for Missouri

The anniversary of Missouri joining the union is on Friday, August 10.

In 1821, it became the 24th state.

Here are a few facts from the Missouri state website:

The highest point in the state is Taum Sauk Mountain at 1,772 feet and the lowest point is the St. Francois River at 230 feet.

Can you name all of the state symbols of Missouri? There are 29.

Just to name a few, the state tree nut is the eastern black walnut, the state grape is the Norton/Cynthiana grape and the state mineral is the galena.
