MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - According to the Jackson County State's Attorney, a Carbondale man has been sentenced on domestic battery charges after failing to comply with his probation terms.
James H. Moody, 27, pleaded guilty to the charge in November 2015 and was placed on 30 months probation, according to Michael C. Carr, Jackson County State's Attorney.
In July 2015, witnesses reported to police that Moody hit a woman in the head and put her in a headlock before dragging her across the business parking lot.
The woman lost consciousness during the incident.
On May 13, 2018, Moody admitted that he had violated his probation.
A sentencing hearing was held on July 10, 2018, and Moody's probation was revoked.
He was re-sentenced to serve 42 months in the Illinois Department of Corrections, followed by a four -year period of mandatory supervised release upon his release from prison.
