CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) - A Newburgh, Indiana man accused of sex crimes involving an underage girl was arrested in Charleston, Missouri Tuesday, July 10.
According to Acting Mississippi County Sheriff Branden Caid, 21-year-old James Teddleton was arrested at a Charleston hotel around 5:30 p.m. on a warrant out of Warrick County, IN.
Sheriff Caid says Indiana authorities received information that Teddleton was staying at a hotel in Charleston.
The Charleston Department of Public Safety was contacted and officers went to the hotel and took Teddleton into custody without any problems.
Teddleton is in the Mississippi County Jail on $100,000 bond. He has waived extradition and Indiana authorities are expected to transfer him back to Warrick County, In. in the next few days.
Teddleton is facing child molestation first degree and sexual misconduct with a minor charges.
According to our sister station, WFIE, Indiana State Police said their investigation began in March, after receiving information that Teddleton had allegedly sexually molested a girl under the age of 14 during the later months of 2017.
