CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Police in Carbondale, Illinois are investigating a shooting that happened overnight on July 9 at 1:32 a.m.

Officers said they were called out to the 400 block of E. Oak Street for what was originally reported as a stabbing.

The victim, who is not being identified at this time, was determined to have been shot according to officers.

The victim sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was treated at an area hospital.

According to officers, the victim described the suspects as two black males, with dreadlock style hair wearing all black.

The investigation into this shooting is ongoing.
