Investigation after crash on I-55 near 96 mm in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Cape Girardeau police are investigating a crash on Interstate 55. Southbound lanes were backed up on the roadway near the 96 mile-marker.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a woman from Charleston was hurt Friday morning when her car ran off the road and hit a median cable barrier.

This was near the West Park Mall exit.

The woman was not seriously hurt.

About 72-feet of cable barrier was damaged. It's not clear what caused the crash.
