THEODORE, AL (WALA) -

A standoff in Theodore ended Thursday afternoon with the arrests of two men.

On Friday Mobile Police identified the arrested men as Scott Shelley, 35, of Theodore, and Louis Dees, 26, of Theodore. Both men are locked up in Mobile County Metro Jail.

Shelley faces three first-degree robbery charges, as well as drug charges. Dees charges of receiving stolen property and posession or receceiving a controlled substance, among other charges.

Mobile Police said officers went to a home on Raybon Road to serve a warrant. Investigators said the men in the home slammed the door and barricaded themselves inside when authorities arrived. The SWAT team was called in at that point.

Witnesses said along with the two men, a woman and child were also in the home. We're told after about three hours, the SWAT team was deployed in an effort to end the standoff. Police said the team broke down the front door and took the two men into custody. No shots were fired and no one was injured.

Police later said they were serving a search warrant in reference to a robbery.

Investigators spent the afternoon looking through the home and a couple cars in the yard. Neighbors say as they watched it all unfold, they were worried things would go south fast.

"They kept yelling, we need you to come out, we need you to come out, with your hands up...I kept praying saying please we don't need another police shooting, and thank God none of the police officers were shot today," said witness, Rebekah Wilson.

A sigh of relief, because it's an intense situation that can go wrong in a split second. We saw that earlier this week in Baldwin County; deputies there were serving an eviction notice to Robert Lewis Yates Junior when he opened fire on deputies. Investigators say Yates opened fire again once the SWAT team got there. After a few hours, officers shot and killed Yates.

Fast forward to Thursday, another so-called routine situation with a very different outcome...the good kind. No shots fired, no injuries, and the suspects in custody.
