Carterville - Dennis Drust

September 22, 2005:

It's "Rivalry Week" in the Black Diamond Conference which means a Carterville vs. Johnston City matchup.  This years game should be as exciting and hard hitting as this game always is.  Both teams are 3-1 in the conference and trying to stay in the race with Carmi.

This game will feature the high powered "single wing" offense of J.C. vs the defense of Carterville.  Carterville must execute its offense while eliminating turnovers to get a win.

As usual, a big crowd, great atmosphere, and an exciting game in Carterville on Friday.

September 15, 2005:
The Carterville Lions are currently 2-1 with their only loss being to the Carmi Bulldogs in overtime.  In week three the Lions rebounded with a solid win over C-Z-R.The game was tied 14-14 in the first quarter. The Lions scored 29 unanswered points to take a 43-14 lead before winning 43-20.  Next up for the Lions will be the Elverado Trico Falcons.  Our offense is searching for consistency and must eliminate turnovers(4 lost fumbles vs C-Z-R).  Defensively we are playing well and must continue to allow our offense to improve.
