ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A grand romantic gesture took over the Arch grounds Tuesday.

Ellie Jackson and her boyfriend Jonny Boehlke were at the top of the Arch when Ellie looked down to see a surprise of a lifetime!

Their friends and family were holding signs below, some drove all the way from Indiana for the surprise proposal.

“We walked in and everyone was looking at us. I didn’t think anything of it. I looked on the wrong side of the arch and he said let’s look on the other side,” said Ellie Jackson. “He said are those people rioting? That’s when I noticed the signs.”

Ellie did say yes! The couple says they aren’t sure when they’ll get married but the family hopes it’s on a warmer day than today.
