The media is taking a hit once again, this time it's about coverage of President Bush's twin daughters, Jenna and Barbara, caught up in that horrible scandal of being 19 years old and ordering a margarita in a Mexican restaurant. The New York Post screamed "Jenna and Tonic". The Today Show led their newscast with the story.
I consider myself an expert at raising teenagers and my kids were perfect in every way. In fact, I would be willing to bet that not one of my youngsters ever had a beer or margarita in a restaurant or bar prior to being 21. Nope, no false ID's from my four children. I would also be willing to bet that I would lose that bet.
This kind of volume reporting on two college age young ladies in a Mexican restaurant is stupid. In fact, the editor of the university newspaper said the story would not make his publication. If he had to report all the underage drinking citations, there would be no room for any real university news. I'm probably guilty of bringing it up on KFVS12 once again in this viewpoint, but maybe I should. You see I was the perfect parent and raised four perfect teenagers in every way. The media needs to leave the girls alone.
