(KFVS) - Women wrestlers will be the focus of a new tournament created by the WWE.
On Tuesday, May 23, WWE announced the Mae Young Classic is scheduled for July 13-14 at Full Sail Arena in Orlando, FL.
The tournament "will mark a significant moment in the evolution of WWE," Executive Vice President Paul Levesque, said. "We are proud to provide this unique opportunity for the best female talent from around the world."
The competition, named after the late WWE hall of famer, Mae Young, will feature 32 women wrestlers performing in a single-elimination tournament.
The Mae Young Classic will stream on the WWE Network later this summer, according to a news release posted on the company's corporate wesbite.
WWE expects to release more details about the tournament in the coming weeks.
