CARMI, IL (KFVS) -

The owner of a restaurant in Indiana is now the center of a food poisoning investigation in southern Illinois.

Nearly 50 Carmi-White High School students say they got sick just after their prom this weekend.

Now, two different health departments in two states are working together to find out what made them sick.

An inspector stopped by to investigate the restaurant yesterday.

The school has posted a public health survey for students to fill out hoping to help health inspectors pinpoint what caused the illness.

The restaurant owner is confident it was not their food which caused the students to get sick. He said the same food was served to 25 of its own employees and no one became ill.
