COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Cuonzo Martin is leaving Cal to become Mizzou's next basketball coach, the school announced Wednesday afternoon.

ESPN's Jeff Goodman is reporting Martin has agreed a 7-year contract worth around $21 million.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Martin resigned from Cal to "be closer to home." Martin is from East St. Louis.

Martin has been at Cal three years and took the Bears to the NCAA in 2016. He has also coached at Tennessee and Missouri State.
