Illinois State Police and American Legion prepare for summer youth police program

SPRINGFIELD, IL (KFVS) - Illinois State Police and the American Legion are planning for the 45th annual Youth Police Camp.

It'll be held at the police academy in Springfield June 25-30.

The camp is structured to promote educational and learning opportunities for 14-16 year olds in the area of law enforcement, military, leadership, cultural diversity, personal development, physical fitness and social and interpersonal skills.

Cadets will be honored at a graduation ceremony June 30th.

The American Legion will accept applications until May 26th.
