Herrin police investigating break-in, shots fired

HERRIN, IL (KFVS) -

The Herrin Police Department is investigating a break-in that occurred on Tuesday, February 7.

Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, authorities say a 911 caller reported that two males forcefully entered.

Shots ended up being fired, but no injuries were reported.

No one is in custody at this time and the incident is still under investigation.

    Sgt. Clark Parrott said Troop E officers are on the scene of a crash on MO 72 near Cape Girardeau County Road 350. He confirms one person has died from injuries in the crash. Relatives have been notified.
