MO Governor-Elect Eric Greitens names Deputy Chief of Staff

(KFVS) -

Governor-Elect Eric Greitens announced Tuesday that he has selected State Representative Caleb Jones (R-California) to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff when the Governor-Elect takes office on January 9.

“We're excited to have Caleb Jones join our team. He's a great conservative leader who will help us to take Missouri in a new direction.”  said Governor-Elect Greitens.

House Speaker Todd Richardson said he supports the decision, calling Rep. Jones a tremendous public servant whose work and leadership will be missed in the Missouri House.

“Governor-Elect Greitens has selected a good friend and great public servant to serve on his leadership team in the governor’s office,” Speaker Richardson said.  “While we will miss Caleb’s leadership as a member of the Missouri House, his deep understanding of policy, strategy and the legislative process will be of great service to the governor-elect and the people of our state.”

Jones, 36, has served in the Missouri House since 2011, representing southern Boone County and parts of Cole, Moniteau and Cooper counties.

“Serving my constituents in the Missouri House has been the greatest honor of my public service and I am proud of what we have achieved together for my district and our state in the legislature,” said Rep. Jones.  “For me, this was about answering Governor-Elect Greitens’ call to service and joining an administration that will have a real positive impact on Missouri families.  I am looking forward to advancing Governor-Elect Greitens’ plans to create more jobs with higher pay, safer streets and better schools for Missouri.”

A special election to replace Jones will take place after his transition from the House. In the interim, an office in the capitol dedicated to constituent services for members of his district will remain active.

Jones resides in Columbia with his wife Lindsey and their two children, Max and Charleston.
