MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

One person was taken to the hospital after a crash in McCracken County, Kentucky on Sunday, Dec. 18.

Around 5 p.m. Sunday, McCracken County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a crash at the intersection of US Highway 62 and Highway 286.

Upon investigating, deputies learned that Joshua Lefler, 30, of Hillsboro, Missouri, was driving a 2014 Toyota Tundra eastbound on Highway 286. Lefler stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of US Highway 62. Jordan Jewel, 21, of Bardwell, Kentucky, was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on US Highway 62.

Lefler, not being familiar with the local roads, did not realize Jewel had the right of way and began to turn left. He pulled into the path of Jewel, causing Jewel to strike him on the driver’s side.

Neither Lefler nor Jewel were injured. However, Jamie Garret, 21, a passenger in Jewel’s truck, was transported to Lourdes for non-incapacitating injuries.

US Highway 62 was restricted to one lane for approximately one hour to aid crews in the removal of the vehicles.
