CRITTENDEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The Kentucky State Police responded to a crash in Crittenden County, Kentucky that sent two people to the hospital on Saturday, Dec. 17.

Troopers say the crash occurred on US 60 approximately 11 miles east of Marion in Crittenden County.

Authorities learned that Julie M. Tinsley, 38, of Marion, Kentucky, was driving a 2007 Nissan Altima eastbound on US 60 East when upon entering a curve she lost control, sliding into the westbound lane of US 60. She was then struck by a 2013 Ford F-250, driven by Floyd Frederick, 68, of Sturgis, Kentucky.

Tinsley’s vehicle left the right side of roadway and slid down an embankment, coming to its final rest uprights. Frederick’s vehicle ran off the right side of roadway down an embankment coming to rest on the passenger side.

Tinsley and a passenger, Helen Renee Stowe, 50, of Marion, were transported to the Crittenden County ER by Crittenden County EMS for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

Crittenden County EMS, the Mattoon Volunteer Fire Department, the Crittenden County Sheriff’s Department and the State Highway Department assisted with the investigation.
