Severe weather, tornado watches rock parts of Heartland as cold continues to move in

The KFVS12 Weather Team is currently tracking severe weather across parts of the Heartland.

As of 4:44 p.m., a confirmed tornado touched down near Deering, Missouri, just outside of Kennett.

Winds, rain and hail will be the major problem for parts of the Heartland as the severe weather begins to turn into winter weather as the night goes on.

The Heartland will remain under a tornado watch until 9 p.m. and a winter weather advisory until 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 18.
