MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Two women were injured Thursday night after a two-car crash in McCracken County, Kentucky.

On December 15, at approximately 5:45 p.m., McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an injury crash at the intersection of Old Mayfield Road and Walnut Drive.

The investigation determined Jeni Hansen, 61, of Paducah, was traveling on Walnut Drive.  Hansen stopped at a stop sign on Walnut Drive at the intersection of Old Mayfield Road.

After stopping, Hansen prepared to make a left turn south onto Old Mayfield Road.

Sherry Johnson, 41, of Paducah, was traveling south on Old Mayfield Road.

Hansen did not see Johnson approaching the intersection, and began to turn left onto Old Mayfield Road, pulling into the path of Johnson.

Johnson struck Hansen on the passenger side and the two vehicles exited the roadway, colliding with a stop sign and utility pole.

Johnson was trapped in her vehicle for approximately 10 minutes before being freed.

Hansen and Johnson were both transported by Mercy Regional EMS to local hospitals for non-incapacitating injuries.

Old Mayfield Road was closed for approximately 1 hour to facilitate the removal of the vehicles.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Department was assisted on scene by Mercy Regional EMS, Hendron Fire Department and M&M Towing Service.
