RANDOLPH COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Two people were injured on Thursday morning after a three-car crash in Randolph County, Illinois.

According to Illinois State Police, Michael R. Steibel 30, of Prairie du Rocher, Ill., was traveling north on IL Rt. 3 north of Canter Road at around 9:20 a.m.

At the same time, Joseph D. Walker, 34, of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, was traveling south on IL Rt. 3 with Kenneth B. Harvey, 56, also of Mississippi, as a passenger.

Doris M. Leifer, 68, of Red Bud, Ill., was in a vehicle sitting stationary in a private driveway with Casandra M. Duncan, 21, also of Red Bud, as a passenger.

Steibel apparently attempted to turn left into the private driveway and failed to yield to Walker, who had the right of way. Walker hit Steibel head-on.

Debris from the crash struck Leifer's vehicle.

Steibel suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Red Bud Regional Hospital. He was later cited for failure to yield and failure to wear a seat belt. Harvey suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment.

ISP was assisted by Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, Red Bud Fire Department, MedStar Ambulance, and Steibel’s Towing.
