CAPTURED: Police arrest man accused of threatening to shoot up a Hayti business

HAYTI, MO (KFVS) -

A Mississippi man is behind bars after calling a Hayti, Missouri business threatening to shoot the people inside on Friday, Dec. 9.

On Dec. 9 around 2:35 p.m., Hayti officers were called to a local business after receiving a call in reference to a person who had been calling threatening to shoot and kill everyone with an assault rifle.

Hayti officers opened an investigation and were able to identify the caller as Terry D. Lester, 41, of Byhalia, Mississippi.

Lester was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 14 with the assistance of the Memphis Police Department. He has a $200,000.00 dollar cash or surety bond and is currently awaiting extradition to Pemiscot County.

Hayti officers have filed a probable cause affidavit with Pemiscot County prosecutors office for a warrant for terrorist threats.

On December Monday, Dec. 12, the Pemiscot County Prosecutors Office formally charged Lester with making terrorist threats without reckless disregard of risk or cause evacuation/close building, inhabitable structure and place of assembly (a class D felony).
