Passenger in deadly crash in Graves Co., KY dies from injuries

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A man injured in a deadly crash in Graves County, Kentucky on Tuesday, Dec. 13 has died from his injuries, according to authorities.

Ernest Dunn, 49, of Fulton, died on Sunday, Dec. 18 due to injuries he sustained in the crash. Fulton was a passenger with Bryan Girard, 37, also of Fulton, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash Tuesday night.

Graves County Sheriff Dewayne Redmon reports that on Tuesday, Dec 13. at 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a single-car crash near mile marker 14 of KY 129, between Hazel Lane and Woodson Road.

The investigation showed that Bryan Girard was traveling north on KY 129.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle missed the curve and left the east side of KY 129 and traveled down an embankment where it hit a tree.

Girard was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Ernest Dunn, 49, of Fulton, was pulled from the car via mechanical means. He was transported to Baptist Health Paducah and then transferred to Vanderbilt with serious injuries, where he died Sunday.

The Graves County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Mayfield/Graves Co EMS, Mayfield Fire Department, the Graves County Coroner’s Office, the Wingo Fire Department, and the Cuba Fire Department.
