Man in custody for shooting his girlfriend in Dawson Springs, KY

DAWSON SPRINGS, KY (KFVS) -

A Dawson Springs man is behind bars, accused of shooting his girlfriend.

According to Kentucky State Police, troopers responded to a home on Hall Street around 12:30 a.m. on Dec. 13.

Investigators learned that Antony Petrakis, 36, and his girlfriend were in a verbal argument when Petrakis fired his handgun.

A bullet from the gun hit the woman, a 35-year-old woman from Eddyville.

She was treated at the hospital and released.

Petrakis faces a charge of assault 1st degree.
