Murray, KY man facing several charges after crash in Calloway Co., KY

CALLOWAY COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Murray, Kentucky man is facing several charges after the Calloway County Sheriff's Department responded to a single-vehicle collision with injuries on Radio Road on Monday, Dec.12.

On Monday at approximately 11:30 a.m. the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office attempted to serve an arrest warrant on Ricky D. Turner, 41, of Murray, for theft by unlawful taking of an automobile out of Graves County. Turner was standing beside his vehicle in a local business parking lot near 6th and Main Streets in downtown Murray.

As authorities approached Turner, he fled on foot and a pursuit ensued. At one point, Turner attempted to get into a vehicle occupied by a driver without their permission, which was stopped at a stop sign nearby.

The Murray Police Department assisted with the foot pursuit which lasted for approximately three city blocks after which Turner was apprehended without incident. 

Turner was served the warrant for theft by unlawful taking of an automobile under $10,000 out of Graves County, Kentucky. Turner was also charged with, possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), illegal possession of a legend drug, possession of a drug paraphernalia, fleeing and evading police on foot, tampering with physical evidence and menacing.

Turner was lodged in the Calloway County Detention Center without bond pending charges in Calloway and Graves counties.
