First Alert Weather Outlook:

The start to the workweek will by chilly, but dry for the Heartland. You may notice some static electricity when you brush your hair this morning! Walking out the door temps will be in the 30s. Fog may be an issue in some places before the sun comes up. By lunchtime it will still be cold with temps in the mid-to-upper 30s. FIRST ALERT: Brian is tracking possible rain for tomorrow morning.

Making Headlines:

Captured: A couple wanted for stabbing a Saint Francois County man with a hatchet, then shooting him in the back, is now in custody in Georgia. Sheriff's deputies in Union County, Georgia were able to arrest Angela Laycock and Timothy Perkins thanks to a tip.

Winter weather: Weather expected to hit Chicago is creating a mess for airline travelers even in the Heartland. The Barkley Regional Airport says United Airlines cancelled its Saturday evening flight, all Sunday flights and the Monday morning departure due to a storm predicted to hit Chicago.

Deadly bombing: Turkey's police rounded up more than 100 members of a Kurdish political party on Monday as the country mourned the dozens killed in a bombing attack near an Istanbul stadium. Police detained 37 individuals linked to the pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party, or HDP, in morning raids in Istanbul and the capital, Ankara, according to state-run Anadolu Agency.

Under investigation: Two central Georgia police officers were shot while serving a search warrant in Crawford County. The officers were serving as a part of multi-jurisdiction drug task force early Monday morning when they entered a home and an occupant started shooting at them.
