PRINCETON, KY (KFVS) -

On Thursday, December 8, the Kentucky State Police Professional Association (KSPPA) District 2 conducted its 20th annual “Shop with a Trooper” (S.W.A.T.) program.

This program is designed to assist children in need during the Christmas season.

Thirty-six children, their families, KSP troopers, and KSP families met at the Area 2 Fire & Rescue Training Center in Princeton.

Pizza was provided to everyone courtesy of the KSPPA and Walmart of Princeton. Drinks and paper products were donated by the Wal-Mart of Princeton. The Sonic Drive-In of Princeton treated everyone to ice cream.

After dinner, personnel from Post 2, and their families, assisted the children with their shopping at the Princeton Wal-Mart. The shopping lists consisted of several items including coats, pants, shirts, shoes, hats, gloves, and toys.

The Kentucky State Police would like to thank the following for making this year’s program such a success:

Charbon Contracting, CWA Local 3312, Kelly's Towing, Wal-Mart of Princeton, Eddie and Denise Young, Tom Toler, The Trooper Campaign, INC., Johnson's Sales and Service, Trice Hughes, Inc., Sonic of Princeton for the Ice Cream, Area 2 State Fire Rescue Training for use of the Building and an anonymous cash donor at Wal-Mart.

Post 2 personnel and their families participating in the event were: Captain Brent White, Sgt. Jeff Ayres, Sgt. Mike Manzanares, Sgt. Nick Rice and family, Tpr. Daniel Holland, Jon McGehee and family, Det. Scott Smith, Tpr. Jonathon Ward, Tpr. Sean Wint, Tpr. Brian Graves, Tpr. Jacob Stephens, Tpr.
