Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays because I get to eat great food, watch some football, and spend time catching up with my family and friends while I participate in annual traditions like dragging the Christmas tree out and watching the kids hang ornaments while I try to make the lights work.
But this year, while some of us are still protesting and upset about the recent election, we should all take a step back and be thankful that we live in the greatest country in the world. This Thanksgiving weekend let's not lose sight of that. Lets be thankful for our democracy, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and all of our other liberties. Give thanks for your family, your job, and your friends. Be thankful for your home, your car, and even your cat. Take a minute to give thanks for our soldiers, policemen, firemen, and other service personnel who keep us safe every day. Be thankful that your kids, not only have a school to go to, but that they have great teachers and are safe.
I'm thankful for all the great employees here at KFVS12, the wonderful people we do business with, all the people in the community we work with to tell stories. And I'm thankful for you, the viewer, for tuning in to watch Heartland News and KFVS12. But all that exists because we live in American and we should all be thankful for that.
I'm Scott Thomas, and that's our ViewPoint.
