2016 has been the year of the social media campaign from Disney's #ShareYourEar that resulted in a $2 million donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, to Tom's #WithoutShoes campaign aimed at raising awareness for children's health and education, and now the #ThanksBirthControl campaign.

This is a National Campaign, that kicked off Wednesday, to prevent teen and unplanned pregnancy.

So, how can social media help? The campaign urges everyone to "...speak up, dispel myths, share facts, and mobilize your friends and colleagues to say #ThXBirthControl."

The website, www.thenationalcampaign.org says, "More than half of sexually active college-age women say they would be more comfortable using contraception if more people talked about it in a positive way."
