Robbyn DeSpain is the assistant news director at KFVS12.
She started out as a morning producer KFVS sister station WALB in Albany, Georgia. From there she went on to Memphis where she helped launch a three-hour morning newscast at the ABC/CW affiliates.
After Memphis, DeSpain moved on to Kansas City where she worked as a morning executive producer at KCTV.
Her next step was Tampa/St. Petersburg where she worked as a morning executive producer at Bay News 9, a 24-hour cable news channel.
Finally, she went to Nashville to be near family and worked as a senior producer of the 10pm newscast at WKRN. While there she won an Emmy in 2016 for Specialty Assignment Report.
Robbyn is a several-time Emmy nominee.
She was a Society of Professional Journalists-Green Eyeshade Award Winner in 2012 for Breaking News.
Robbyn has a BFA in Mass Media from Valdosta State University, which is in her hometown of Valdosta, Georgia.
Getting the opportunity to produce newscasts there and four-camera sports shoots helped her realize her passion for producing and TV news.
Robbyn has an amazing little boy named Ryan.
Her dad taught at Southeast Missouri State University in the late 1990s, so she's excited to live in a familiar area.
She's thrilled to be in St. Louis Cardinals country since she is a lifelong fan.
