Put your puppy's paws in the footprints of history

ILLINOIS (KFVS) -

Take your dog on a walk with history at the Lewis and Clark Frontier Dog Walk at the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site in Hartford, Illinois on Saturday, September 24.

This event will center on walking your dogs on a two mile course. There will be dog trainers and groomers on hand. Dogs will also be available for adoption from local societies.

There will also be a guest speaker within the Interpretive Center’s theater a 1 p.m.

The event is only on Saturday, September 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dogs will only be allowed in the theater between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. 

Dogs may be walked through and around Camp River Dubois.

Meriwether Lewis took his dog, Seaman, a Newfoundland, along with the expedition to explore the Louisiana Purchase.
